Ban the hip hop and the facebook until they behave

Kings Cross is an area that I never really understood the appeal of.

Close it, keep it open, its all the same to me.

Its not like the druggies and derros crept in. They didn't sneak up and surprise anyone, they're well-known to inhabit the joint.

Just got back from there, just went down to see this guy that I tie up and spank and fuck with a dildo for a few dollars.
I just stayed till the next train left so I wasn't there long but I must say I don't think I saw anyone over 25, apart from the hookers and the bouncers outside the strip clubs.
Just young bogans from the suburbs.
It wasn't too rowdy when I left at just past 11pm, but I wouldn't want to be there at 4am.
Didn't see a single cop though, I though they had 60 on the street on weekends but didn't see one.

We were there today. The Injecting Room was surrounded by Walking Corpses. They all looked brain-dead and filthy to touch

^^^^^^i was opposed to the injecting room when bob carr announced it, but now im not so sure. I think that if it stops these so-called walking corpses away from the passing out in front of local bussiness, then surely that must be one positive outcome from it.

Better they shoot up at a supervised clinic than leave nasty needles all over the place. And unfortunately, it needs to be conveniently located and the Cross marks the spot where many a peep score their drugs. Newtown is as ghetto as I am willing to go to get that queer-in-arms loved feeling. ;-)

That's actually not true; they don't hang around outside; they go in, shoot up and skedaddle.
That's just propaganda from the hysterical local residents. The alternative, that is they shoot up in your doorway, I think you would find much worse. If you want to close down the injecting centre, then be careful what you wish for. Junkie coming to your doorstep soon.

I got pricked by a used syringe at the Pleasure Chest in Kings Cross a long time ago; they had stuffed the syringe in the mattress on the bench in the booth. Fortunately I didn't catch anything.

I agree. It can only be managed if its decriminalized. I think we should listen to the health professionals not to politicians, parents or residents. Australia's early response to AIDS was applauded around the world. Junkies should have clean needles and safe places to hit-up so we can mitigate harm. It affects the wider community. 'Punishing' junkies is counter intuitive.
Providing clean needles and safe places halts the spread of diseases and harm. Ive had needle-stick injuries - very scary but much less dangerous as sharing is far less prevalent .

I understand that Amsterdam's liberal drug laws may have turned into in the the drug capital of Europe. Opps

I was up the Cross today at like 7am and was assailed by well-heeled drunks. It was a bit scary certainly not pretty.

they have recently begun to change the laws in Amsterdam - they are trying or have already, not sure, made it that only locals can score cannabis in the coffee houses. I have been there/done that and it was really the primary reason for adding Amsterdam to my travel plans - although I did a lot of other things and spent heaps - I think it will hurt tourism if they do it - and of course force it all underground.

One would think that after years and year and zillions of dollars spent on a failed attempt to stop people from getting drugs that people would realize that it would be far better to legalize and control drugs and all that illegal revenue. But we tend to be a stupid lot, as a whole.

I don't think they have done that in Amsterdam yet; they have only done it in the south of the country. And I don't think it's a national law, just something each county can implement if they choose.
The reason behind is not to ban pot, because the locals can still buy it at the coffeshops if they have a "weedpass', but rather the locals were getting pissed off with weed tourists who would come there for the pot and then create noise in the streets and shit in the streets and stuff.

The thing is this. No-one celebrates the fact that countless men went out for years with only other men and had fun? This is a diatribe that is propagated by media.

I swallow it.
