This same question has been asked a lot and she has said many times before that she doesn't see marriage holding any significance over a relationship, using her own heterosexual de facto relationship and her choice not to marry as an example.
I think the questions need to be altered to ask why she is comparing her relationship and her choice not to marry, to that of a homosexual relationship when we don't have the choice.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard is such an articulate, down to earth woman.
She's gone on record as saying marriage equality is inevitable for Australia.

Ive actually registered this as my question to her on the your say website, in light of the massive majority vote the NSW Youth Parliment passed a motion to lobby for same sex marriage rights, would the labour govenment re-consider its position. Ive not found out if I am invited to ask her the question, but if I do i'll definately report it all here.

Yeah and the majority of Australians that voted down the Labor party at the 2010 election causing it to forge a coalition with the greens and independents, would disagree with you on that one. She's dead at the next election (poloitically speaking). They'll either return Rudd, or Rudd will be one of the few remaining members of the ALP in the Federal Parliament after the election. Julia had her "fair go" let go when she removed our prime minister, so fuck her she's had her chance and Australians clearly just don't like her.

Australians saw herself, Shorten and Swan kill their Prime Minister, they retaliated as such in 2010.

As for Gillard being a "Childless woman Atheist', It's often the conservatives attacking her for this. I'm a male childless atheist and would remain as such more then likely for the rest of my life, i can understand this part. However given her atheism I cannot understand her constant denial of equal marriage.

Rudd has only played the media the one time he challenged, and she was kept in place by the people that put her there in the first place, not the Australian people. Of all the polls conducted during that period, Rudd always scored massively against her. So seriously who did the Australian people favor?
