According to independent Aussie news source Crikey.com.au, Hitchener’s coming out must have been uttered through clenched teeth. He didn’t come out of the closet on his own – he was well and truly pushed.

God! Poor Pete. Don't know if the blackmail idea is the 'simple' truth, but I wouldn't put it past James Campbell - the man is disgusting! (Andrew Bolt - the second coming!)

it's the same thing that happened with Steven Gately and Will Young. The press found out they were gay and basically said, you give u exclusive interview or we're gonna tell the world it anyway

I'm so surprised it took this long to come out. I heard he was gay over 15 years ago. Sad that it came to a blackmail jaunt. The media can be quite devoid of tact and quite ridiculous when producing a story. Yet another example of just how much we humans treat each other poorly.
