Well today I am going to share with you a source of humiliation that I suffered today at brunch in Kiribilli.

There I was with two of my friends having a gay old time over bacon and eggs when I notice this really handsome guy at the next table staring at me unashamedly. I look back a little more cautiously, thinking to myself that he must be a straight guy with his straight mates. After a little while his two friends and he get up to go out, but as he leaves he turns around and blows me a kiss - very boldly and visibly in front of the whole cafe.

Anyway, both my friends see this and force me to follow him and ask for his number. I walk out of the cafe, down the street and round the corner. There he is with his two friends. I go up to him and I say "Hi, what's your number?" to which he replied in an extremely bogun accent "What do you want my number for?" to which I answered "Well, you were staring at me for the whole of breakfast and then you blew me a kiss. It's not the sort of thing people are used to doing everyday. I thought maybe you would be interested in more than just flirting". He simply walked away looking annoyed. By that stage I was pretty convinced that he was straight and was just simply teasing a boy who probably knew was gay (from our conversation). Perhaps I was too forward. May be I should have just left it at accepting his kiss as a happy memory. Has anyone else had a similar experience with a straight prick tease?

Hmmm... I for one, regardless of how it turned out, think you should be applauded for being bold enough to go up to someone like that. that's the kind of attitude that will get you far in this world! so i say don't feel ashamed, feel strong and proud.

Just a little post-script to this one - I saw this guy again on Friday night/Saturday morning. There I was with the same group of friends plus a few others enjoying a nice greasy kebab on Oxford Street after spending about eight hours in Stonewall and there he was - with a girl who he appeared to be fairly friendly with. He was wearing the same jacket and had the same inane grin on his face.

what a loser. hope the greasy kebab gives him heart disease... and the girl gives him herpes.

You sound like a reasonable person & what you did was quite within reason...but the guy in question flatters himself.

Couldn't he be mature enough to say "Oh, misunderstanding mate. I was just having a bit of fun with you, but no thanks". He wasn't even bright enough to take it as a compliment nor sensitive enough to put you at ease.

Me...............I like to be a prick tease straight girls. Chicks are forever playing games with straight guys so I sort of make it my mission to screw with there heads especially if I go to a straight bar or club. It's so much fun flirting with girls and my straight guy cousin (who usually comes out with us) as absolutly amazed how I can pick up chicks so easy. Its not hard for a gay man to hit on a girl but when it comes to picking up a guy I'm sort of shy and quiet. I suppose I have more to talk about with a girl then a guy. LOL. Plus girls appreciate good manners and complements (being a gentleman) where guys are just interested in getting into your pants most of the time.

I commend you for having the guts to approach the man. All I can say is that you might want to learn form your experiance/mistake, but hay..... next time could go in your favour, you never know.

i seem to be able to get the interest of girls and straight guys as well - the girls are usually easily handled but the straight guys who flirt with the openly gay guy - soo annoying.
