Has anyone seen Another Gay Movie?

See it! Rent it! It's hilarious.

It's SO gay. It's funny, raunchy, bitchy, camp, did I say gay?

I watch a lot of the 'gay interest' filums rented from the the local DVD store ( Dr What in Bondi Junction - great local business) and usually they're so-so.

This one breaks all the rules. I was kinda shocked but in a good way.

There are some superb cameos from Richard Hatch ( the gay naked Survivor winner), and Graham Norton, in full leather gear with a MASSIVE appendage.

You'd think I was the movie's publicist but I aint!

Do yourself a favour, grab a group of friends and watch it.

Come on David, elaborate why you think it was? I haven't seen it yet but the trailer does look hilarious... for what it is.

I found it awkwardly b-grade.

Modelled itself on American Pie, but not very good production values or script.

Also sometimes felt it was more targeted at straight teens laughing at gay people.

Had its moments tho!

Sumemrstorm is a lovely film. It made me want to take up rowing!

Eating Out? Dont know that one.

Wow - I would think most str8 teens wouldnt get half of the jokes. I thought the production values were very high. I mena - Santorum High School? If you dont know what I mean - Go google "Santorum"

I LOVE Another Gay Movie! Obviously and blatantly a rip off of American Pie but thought it was hilarious. Also Love Summer Storm and Eating Out 1 and 2 are also great... actually Eating Out 2 was a bit lame... apart from Marco Dapper who is an absolute GOD...

Anyway.
Some to avoid like the plague tho:

Broken Sky - HEINOUS. Looks pretty and sounds fab in the blurb but in reality is 2 and hlf hours of film and about 8 mins of dialogue. Tedious and painful. We saw it as part of MG Film Festival this yr and at least 60% of the audience walked out. Avoid at all costs.

Vacationland - boring and not worth the effort.

Open Cam - you'd get better acting from a tree and my grandmother could write a more interesting script.

one to definitely watch tho is Electroshock. A lesbot love story (not that I'm in a habit of watching them) but it is beautifully shot, brilliantly acted and just a gem! Don't forget the tissues!!

I didnt mind Another Gay Movie - it was harmless fun, bit like the drag flick Girls will be Girls - delightfuly crude and unashamedly polically incorrect. If you want truly diablical acting and storylines catch the new soap/drama series The Lair - Gay vampires terrorising a small town - truly awful but sorta hot in a perverse type of way

Well, if we are talking about movies, I can recommend Boy Culture. It is sexy, funny and sharply written. It is about a rent boy with morals - who is secretly obsessed with his flatmate. Sounds cliche, but it is sweet and left me with a smile on my face.

Oh Tim, Dante's Cove... yes, well. It is kind of good but in a very VERY bad way... almost too bad to watch but not quite!

Urgh. I think I laughed out of disdain more than at any decent comedic moments during the film. Was an okay premise - shoddy execution.

boy culture was trying too hard. again - good production values, but that main character - X - was just so... lame. he purported to be some sort of deep thinking, damaged sex worker that nobody understood - and it was so... yawn.

but kudos to them for at least using film to explore the themes it was looking at. i guess that's the thing about queer film - even when it's bad you manage to find some joy in there somewhere.

another gay movie - hell, it wasn't taking itself seriously at all, so i can forgive it for all of it's shortcomings. i was actually pretty impressed with it. but then again, my expectations were pretty low to start with.

it's a hell of a lot better than american pie! and i love richard hatch, so that helped.

Isn't Matthew Rush the porn actor in it as well?

BUT By the end ... I was pissin' myself..... It is a total take on American pie !! - & should be treated with just as much concern ....

I am gonna have to get Dantes Cove on DVD. Have seen some if it on YouTube and it looks TERRIBLE! ( but good terrible!)
