Default Misleading Pics on profiles
What do you think about people who post pics of them that either aren't them, or were taken a long time ago when generally, they looked younger and hotter?

Now I'm not talking about people using pics of their fave star, signs, symbols or avatars here, but real photos of people who may or may not be them?

Is this acceptable as it's not a pick up site and you don't talk to people based on their looks anyway, or do you see these people as lying about who they are and place judgements on the people who do this?

We've all read about some horror stories that have come about by people doing this (legless men into being peed on, leather clad serial killers etc) but to what degree do you take pictures of people into account when chatting or making friends?

hate people that do it full stop.
and to hear it happens on here thats a joke
maybe u should look at the idea verification that other sites have done.
have to send avpic of u in with a said note in or something.
BTW the pics i hate the most are those saying "not me but what i like to do"

oh yes - i have seen that on sites where they're like - "this isn't me, but the look that i go for" - so annoying...

my picture in here isn't really me though - i've used another picture to protect my real identity because i'm a huge celebrity and if you knew who i really was you'd be falling all over me wanting an autograph.

no, really. you would.

Get real people, profiles give you one chance to make an impression and everyone wants to put their best pic forward.

Before you ask, I don't have a picture up here coz I'm not out at work yet, but if I did it would be the nicest shot of me that I've got. What's wrong with that?

yeah - dont like it much. I tend to keep mine up-to-date. Its a real set back - like u don't even know the person when you find out what they rly look like.

i dont think it's about putting a nice pic of u, showing u at your best
it's more about not showing the real u.
of course most people want to give the best impression first

it all comes down to trsut really, if ya meet up with someone as a friend or anything and they've lied to you about their picture, gets you wondering what else they may have lied to you about, they might be the nicest person in the world but it immediately gives the wrong impression.

All photos can be misleading, especially when we've got programs like photoshop.
The question is, how much do people judge someone on their photo?

It's not about judging someone from their photo, it's about seeing a true representation of them.. You either put a pic up that's less than 2 years old or you don't put up one at all.... definitely deceiptful...

I am not a fan of doing it - however I do have a pic of Marco Dapper as my screen pic cause I love the perv - however if you read my profile i also mention that in my pics there is a true pic of myself. And its recent LOL

I hope that this does not make me a deceiptful ass.....

fcukmy318i - curious, why don't you use your screen pic as yourself and put Marco in your gallery?

definitely agree with timmeyboy and peeter... it's not so much about judging someone based on how they look, it's about not knowing how to take someone when they've posted a fake pic of themselves - I certainly wouldn't trust anyone i met who was obviously not the person in their photo.

As Burgjo asked, you've got to wonder why someone would bother doing that anyway... ppl are going to get to know you for you -your tastes in books, music, movies, beliefs, etc all included- so why would you risk making yourself look bad (person) by making yourself look good (photo)?
