Was just reading I Could Be You's recent column about babies and I have to say, it gave me some things to wonder about. With science, turkey basters etc. we might be able to have our own children, but is this really what being gay is all about? Is this our bold new direction? Or are we just pretending?

Fostering babies is one thing - but gay people creating children using science - talk about denial. And how is it fair for the child?

I personally think that you can talk about it til your blue in the face, but there's only one way to make a baby and EVERYBODY KNOWS IT.

What's that saying, something about homosexuality being a blessing from God because we don't have to raise children.

There is only one way to make a baby - sperm + egg, but there's plenty of ways to raise it.

I don't think we're pretending. There is no bold new direction. Some gays want to have children, and some straights don't. Simple as that.
