Default Favourite Australian getaway destination?
My friends and I plan to visit Mollymook this weekend for a mini-holiday. And we had the penthouse booked for a nice place on the beach. I was called at about 7am this morning to be informed that there had been a double booking and my group was to be moved to a 2 story apartment instead of the penthouse. I told the lady I'd have to inform my friends and get back to her.

After telling them, my friends called up to suss out the situation and we'll be paying the same price for the 2 story apartment as we would be for the penthouse which is normally far more expensive (though we did get a discount on the penthouse) and that if they were going to "expect crap from" us when we arrive they can "easily rent out the apartment to someone else". It is a nice set of apartments so I was shocked to hear how unprofessional this lady was.

We're still going to go as we can't be bothered to find anywhere else at such short notice, but it has made it a pretty unpleasant experience so far and I doubt the witch on the other end of the phone is going to make it any more enjoyable for us when we arrive.

So, apart from all that, What is your favourite Australian holiday destination?

I don't really travel. I enjoyed my time on the Gold Coast though so I guess there.

I own a lot of land by the Murrumbidgee river about 4 hours west of Sydney which is absolutely amazing to gte away to, I take the horses and quads and I have myself some free time!
I actually have a hut out there if anyone ever wanted to get away .. or I can get my family to supply a tent so you can be right on the river .. it's very lovely and relaxing .. always take a fishing rod! I sound so butch right now...

I'd have to say that my 2nd face place in Aus is Ballina ... so pretty, shame about the locals but not much you can do

I'm planning a trip to Tasmania in June, when the exams are over. I've never been on a Cruise before, so this might be an interesting trip.

When I used to study at tafe, me and friends would go somewhere far away to kayak - I love kayaking and sight-seeing. I've been to the Great Ocean Road, and some other places here in Melbourne.

Nowdays, I enjoy a stroll around St.Kilda beach, playing badminton, going to the cinema with friends on weekends.

South coast - namely Jervis Bay and Erowal Bay.

Cannot abide the Gold Coast.

That sounds like an incredible time.

As for Ballina, I've stayed there 2 out of the 3 times I've gone to Splendour in the Grass at Byron Bay. There's some nice riverside apartments I stay at and it's not expensive at all, though there's not much to do in Ballina?

Thommo is like Eastern Europe in the suburbs

My favourite would be the many towns and villages that do the D'Entrecausteux Channel, Cygnet, Orford, Coles Bay and Bruny Island in Tasmania.

I will have to do some Franskton bashing here, I think it is the arse hole of Melbourne but it is also the gate way to the morning pennisula which is beautiful,

Having lived and worked in Crib Point, the suburb of Frankston is the closest thing to a Melb train line which is a good 30 mins away drive and about 45 mins by v line,

It is not a very nice place,

What is straight? A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it's curved like a road through mountains.

It actually is some of the best fun I've had in my life, they also have these mini dodgem seat things that make you feel like a darlec, and a mini-jeep go-cart race track .

The maze is ridiculously dodgy and hilarious though.

Fave places to go away within OZ. I would have to say Berry and Nelson's Bay....

When I'm an old and retired fag I would love to move to a farm in Berry.... I love the townships i.e. Kangaroo Valley and Berry.... It's close to Seven Mile beach, which is one of my fave beaches.

Up North Nelson's bay and Samurai beach.... Will probably be headin up there round Easter or so.... Hyped about that...
