Default Sometimes I wish I was older.
Ok, My girlfriend is a little older than me [7 years] But she doesnt look it thank god. [The security guards @ crown casino asked her if she had ID on friday but they didnt ask me, ok yeah i was jealouse and maybe a little offended lol]

Anyway, I have recently been finding myself lost and confused in conversations when she is talking about things.

Is this odd?

There are so many things we talk about - relating to everything, but im not old enough to know what it is.

It kills me when she talk about travelling the world... cos ive been to sydney twice and queensland twice.

I think the trend is that people want to be younger, but i want to be little older. Strange... Thirty is the new twenty...

It's gotta work both ways. There must be stuff you know that she doesn't yet. Physical challenge..... get her to admit she doesn't know what you're talking about within the next month. I reckon you can do it!

Eee were so different, cos i went thru the drugs/alcohol/crime thing and shes straight edge and travelled the world. I have retarded street smarts, and the ability to spot a drug dealer from a mile away. LOL

Opposites attract hon .

There's 11 years between Jade and I and I love it. Instead of letting it bother you when she talks about things you havent yet done/were before your time, just ask tonnes of questions and you'll not only learn heaps, but it will make for great conversations that go well into the wee hours of the morning. It's all part of the fun!

As Ian said, it cuts both ways. I'm sure there are times where she wishes she knew what the hell you were on about but it was before her time. Listen to her stories of travel and dream about the day when you will see the world too, coz believe me babe, it will happen. And confide in her about your stories from the past too. These are the things that bring 2 people closer together. And it doesnt matter who your with and what the age gap.... there will always be major differences because none of us lead the exact same path through life.... THANK GOD! Coz how boring would that be?? xo

Don't get jealous... get interested! Try and understand her perspective. I made the mistake of getting jealous at my ex's constant diatribes (there I go again) about world travels and how much better public transport is in London or florida quays and the clubs in france... blah blah blah! I used to switch off and roll my eyes whenever it came up in public. It formed a rift between us that never healed. If I'd taken the higher road and taken an interested, then I might just of learnt something! And the relationshiop may have flourished instead of dieing horribly!

And good on you for being able to spot a drug dealer a mile off... I bring 6 years of cubicle farming to my relationships! Not quite as useful!

Why do you have to be older to travel the world? If you really want to, go now! Or start working towards it. Age is only a barrier if you make it one. You can learn much from older people. At the same time, they can gain much from hanging out with a younger person, so why spend time lamenting that you aren't older?

Exactly

My sexy older woman gets a major kick out of taking me to places I havent been, and to do things I've never done... and its exciting for me coz its new, so everyones happy!

She says her favourite part of Mardi Gras was watching how overwhelmed I was in the parade coz she remembered how it felt for her and was excited she could share that with me...

And like you've already discovered, there's ALWAYS new things to experience together that neither of you have done

What is straight? A line can be straight, or a street, but the human heart, oh, no, it's curved like a road through mountains.

GoG your being half empty....

maybe your GF loves hanging with you because you keep her young and current?

My BF is 10 years older than me (I am 30 he is 40) the age gap is great for us......I keep him current and on his toes with crazy ideas and adventures (+ he gets to dress young when he is with me)....and through him i get to see things through the eyes of a person with a little bit more life experience when it comes to investing or buying a house i.e. the big decisions in life.....

be fun and have faith but never think you don't measure up because your younger - youth is a wonderful thing especially the morning after a massive night!

PS we are going on 3 years this week....
