HEAR: "I f**ked up" Madonnaconfesses on MDNA

We’ve heard Madonna’s new album MDNA in full – and were pleasantly surprised by the range of stand-out tracks including cheeky dancefloor-fillers and dramatic ballads.

We think she’s back to the top of her game after an unsuccessful experimentation (read: ripping off) with urban music on Hard Candy. Now Madge has returned to the dancefloor with a club friendly collection of what Madonna does best: throbbing dance tracks that make you bob your head with the beat.

Sure, there’s a few ballads thrown in that don’t quite hit the emotional mark, but when she sets out to make you move, Madonna never fails.

As Billboard magazine puts it: “Not only does Madonna take us to the club with MDNA, she exhausts us, drains us, and confides in us.”

The album – her 12th in a stellar career of ups and downs but mostly ups – is out this Friday, and a few tracks and previews are now on her YouTube channel, including this confessional piece written by herself and Martin Solveig. Listen to I Fucked Up below…

Superstar includes backing vocals from her daughter Lourdes – here’s a preview listen:

Gang Bang’s explicit lyrics will apparently see it omitted or censored on the ‘clean’ version of the MDNA album. Madonna says “it’s the ultimate revenge song”…

She’s also previewed a new ballad Falling Free, co-written by her brother-in-law Henry, who also co-wrote several past Madonna songs including Don’t Tell Me. The album closer is being described as the saddest song she’s ever given us.

There’s a whole heap more preview clips on Madonna’s YouTube channel here.

It seems the album’s lead single Give me All Your Luvin’, co-starring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. isn’t exactly representative of the rest of MDNA. But we still like it. What do you think?

Madonna never went anywhere so I don't think this is a comeback. The hard candy album did not do so great in Australia, however in the U.S & Europe it did very well & was no. 1 for quite some time. One of the many great things about Madonna is the fact that she does experiment, which can be risky for any artist, however Madonna can do it & get away with it. Madonna is forever pushing her own boundaries, you are never quite sure what to expect from her, once you understand her you just luv her. I have followed Madonna since day one, she has always had critics say her career was over, that she was done, every time Madonna proves them all wrong by coming out with something that gets everyone talking about her, reminding us all just how talented she is. She is an incredibly interesting & very intelligent woman, which is what makes her stand out from all the other artist. She has never been afraid to go against the grain.

Madonna is much more then a pop star, Madonna has done a lot for the gay community, she was one of the first to get out there & publicly support those with HIV/AIDS. With out a doubt Madonna is the queen of pop & she has earned every bit of that tittle. She has set a standard & opened doors for the pop stars of today. Those who criticize Madonna do not understand her, or forget what she has done for pop culture, their is a generation of today that were either not around or to young to remember (seems most of them are on this site) the controversial Madonna that set trends got everyone talking about her with everything she did & was the most photographed person in the world next to lady Diana. Madonna has entertained us for over 30 years, whether you like her music or not, she should be respected as the pop icon she is. Those who criticize Madonna, take sometime to look at what she has done over the last 30 years, then try & find anyone else that comes close. The latest pop stars are not doing anything that has not been done before.

Madonna pulled me out of a very dark place, & her girlie show concert in Sydney changed the course of my life for the better, she has always inspired me, so I have much respect for her. I knew Madonna would come out with another fantastic album. What I have heard of MDNA sounds fantastic & as usual it is fresh sounding & stands out from what everyone else is doing, she has another big hit on her hands.

I get it! Kylie has a tour of "B" sides and Madonna releases an album of "B" sides.
