Grown-up child stars blastKirk Cameron

He played Mike Seaver in classic ‘80s TV sitcom Growing Pains, but these days actor Kirk Cameron hasn’t done much except upset others with his homophobia.

On Piers Morgan’s show last month, he answered a question about gay marriage with an over-the-top critique of homosexuality, calling it “unnatural, detrimental and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilisation.”

Take a look…

Cameron, who’s now an evangelical Christian, naturally got loads of quick reactions from several people who have been famous since the 1980s – and unlike Cameron are still famous – including Roseanne Barr, Sara Gilbert and even his former Growing Pains costars Tracey Gold and Alan Thicke.

Calling themselves CCOKC, standing for Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron, a collection of former child stars of American TV have also spoken up against the outspoken former actor in a new video. Take this, Kirk…

Not sure how this is 'recent' news - Kirk Cameron has been bible bashing and hating gays for years !!!!

The guy is one big douche bag - producing those Religious Films like FIREPROOF (Google the spoofs) and harping on constantly about how he knows all !!

HONESTLY - just ignore him - everyone else has.

(oh.. the CCOKO is from Funny or Die - not sure if it's actually a real group :) )!

nah... not gay .... but definitely f*cked in the head !

Youtube some of this 'greatest' moments - on creation, the bible, loving relationships - and of course, watching porn on his computer and smashing the screen ! (Fireproof)

He's got a long history of being a religious nut !! I'm surprised anyone would want to interview him fullstop.

A Z grade 'actor' cum preacher.

I think he ducked out for a few beers at lunchtime and left the work experience kid in charge. The kid figured that he wasnt getting paid, so he didnt give a fuck if a few things went wrong

Why the fuck does anyone give a shit what a so-called 'celebrity' says? Just because someone can act, sing or play sport, it does not give them any social or intellectual properties any more than the bloke sitting opposite you in the train. Why does anyone pay them any attention?

there is something insidious about evangelicals recruiting children. correct that. recruiting ex-child stars with the mental capacity of a seven-year old.

He is entitled to his views. I thought he was trying to be careful not to offend yet stay true to his beliefs. Pity his beliefs are founded in hate and prejudice. Hopefully one day he will see how wrong he is!

Re: the banana argument, he very eloquently describes them

the problem is he doesn't realise, or choses to ignore, the fact that wild bananas are nothing like that;

this;

is the result of thousands of years of human cultivation.

if only it was that easy to prove the existence of God. :rolleyes:

bananas (and their history) are actually very complicated and interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana
