First it was the Spice Girls, now it’s those Manhattan sirens from Sex And The City.
We’ve all heard the rumours since the series ended back in 2004 but now it’s official. Sex And The City is coming to the big screen. It will be written and directed by series producer Michael Patrick King and will feature the original four ladies – Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.
Gossip columns have been reporting on the cast’s in-fighting for years, and it’s been these spats, plus Kim Cattrall’s salary negotiations that have been hampering the project’s progress. Cattrall flatly refused to appear in the film unless her salary was more than Sarah Jessica Parker’s. It would appear that they’ve finally raked together enough cash to get her onboard.
The plot is being closely guarded but expect some big surprises. Given that the series ended with Carrie finally making it with Mr Big, everyone is keen to know if Chris Noth will be in the film as well.
Shooting starts in September.
