Congratulations! It's A Homo!

An Italian ad campaign against homophobia is causing a stir internationally. It features a newborn baby wearing a wristband that says “homosexual”, implying that people are born gay and that it’s not a choice.

A spokesperson from Tuscany region’s civil rights group says, “Homosexuality is not a vice and hence should not be condemned nor marginalised, or worse still persecuted.”

The ad has been printed on posters and is being plastered on walls around cities in the area. Of course, critics have stepped up against the ad campaign, saying that it’s exploitative and misleading.

“Exploiting newborns to suggest that homosexual tendencies are innate is a misleading and shameful act,” said one conservative Christian politician. Meanwhile gay groups have also said that the campaign is problematic, as they’re not so sure that gayness is as innate as the posters suggest.
