“I was your co-star on Neighbours, there was a big wedding and everything and, more to the point, we actually dated for a few years,” said Kylie Minogue in a skit with Jason Donovan in a TV special that screened in the UK on the weekend, The Kylie Sh0w.

The skit involved the two former soap stars passing each other in a corridor, where Jason fails to remember Kylie when they bump into each other and instead offers her his autograph.

The special has been praised for showing the funnier side of the pop star, who also teams up with sibling Dannii Minogue in another quirky sketch. The two Minogues are involved in a bitchy catfight when Dannii’s X Factor co-host Simon Cowell enters the room and tries to break them up, only to be punched by Kylie who mistakes him “for Dannii’s mother”.

But it’s not all laughs; there’s a lot of awesome entertainment too. Kylie performs her current hit single 2 Hearts as well as another single from her upcoming album during which she rides a mechanised bull.

The Australian screening hasn’t been announced yet but we can probably assume it will be timed with the release of her new album X, due out later this month.
