Day Of Truth A Total Failure
The Alliance Defence Fund’s ‘Day of Truth’ failed to make a mark on American schools, after attempting to rival last Friday’s pro-tolerance and anti-bullying ‘Day of Silence.’ The Alliance Defence Fund planned to oppose the promotion of same-sex marriage and wanted to express their conservative Christian homophobic perspective.
According to gay news group GoodasYou.org, the event “went by… with less than a whimper.”
“While last Friday’s pro-acceptance, anti-bullying ‘Day of Silence’ attracted considerable attention, there was barely a mention of Monday’s anti-gay endeavour on either mainstream or pro-family news sites, and none of the usual social conservative groups issued so much as a press release celebrating the event,” said a writer on the website.
The event was established three days after the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network promoted the ‘Day of Silence’, promoting tolerance and highlighting the persecution many LGBT students face daily.
According to the Alliance Defence Fund, many students have been censored after attempting to speak out against gay rights or punished for their actions under campus hate-speech rules – ‘Day of Truth’ was an opportunity to “counter the promotion of homosexual agenda.”
The event’s website claims that the Fund has more than 1,000 allied attorneys who are available to assist students who run into complications with school officials or pro-homosexual advocacy groups regarding their freedom of speech. The website also explains that gays must be enlightened from their unwanted homosexual behaviour.
‘Day of Silence’, on the other hand, received high esteem this year with American talk show host Larry King making an emotional plea, demanding tolerance for LGBT students.
