Oprah's Still On Top

For the second consecutive year, talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, 54, has topped the Forbes celebrity ‘Power List’, as ranked by Forbes Magazine.

The title is decided on the basis of the celebrity’s earnings over a year but also takes into consideration the amount of major magazine covers of the celebrity, press clippings, web references and the amount of broadcast mentions.

Unsurprisingly, Oprah’s gift for the gab and ever-expanding empire raked in a mammoth $290.42 million from June 2007 to June 2008 – beating golfer heavyweight, Tiger Woods with his paled by comparison $121.45 million.

Hollywood hottie Johnny Depp came in at number six, with his earnings totalling $72 million; and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie show us that even though they’re busy adopting nations a child at a time, their celebrity prowess is as strong as ever. Pitt rounded off the top ten with earnings of $20 million and thanks to ongoing media coverage Jolie came in at number three despite earning less than her hubby – $14.79 million.

Madonna, Elton John, Tom Cruise and The Rolling Stones didn’t make the final cut, this year dropping off the top 10 list into celebrity oblivion.

Oprah doesn't eat cheesecake. The fatty foods she eats are corn chips, salsa dip, chilli-bean hot dogs and fried chicken wings. Oprah hasn't much of a sweet tooth. She's worth $2.3 billion. She donates $60 million to charity each year.

I met Oprah in Pasadena, California. She was shopping for a pair of bed socks, I was buying bed linen. she told me she can't get decent bed socks in Chicago. We had a 2 minute conversation on whether or not bed socks were ONLY for bed or you could wear them around the house during the day. She is so down to earth, so unaffected, lovely woman.

Oh, that's funny. "I talked to her about bed socks! You don't know Oprah like I do!" Question 1 - what the fuck are bed socks? Question 2 - How can anyone consider an interviewer whose main questions consist of 'How did that make you feel?' and 'what were you thinking at that point?' an intelligent person? Question 3 - why don't you marry Oprah? One of the things that shits me about her - absolutely - is she starts at least one sentence in every episode of her show (at least that I've seen, which isn't many), with the line, "Here's what I know for sure..." She's an imbecile. A simpleton. A flake. You, my friend, are totally star struck. Bed socks?

I don't know Oprah, I had a chat with her about bed socks in a department store. She's not a flake. I could go on about WHY Oprah isn't a flake, but you sound pretty sure of your conviction that she's an 'imbecile' so I won't bother.
