Kylie And Dannii Record ABBA Duet
Kylie and Dannii have recorded a duet. It’s been a long time coming, and an idea that was sparked after the two sang Kids live in Melbourne during Kylie’s Homecoming tour.
The pair have recorded The Winner Takes It All, the ABBA track recently made famous by Meryl Streep, who belted it out in only one take for the recent Mamma Mia! film.
According to the UK paper The Sun, the track was recorded for the new British TV comedy series Beautiful People. It’s set to be the theme tune for the BBC show.
“Doing the duet with Kylie on tour was amazing,” said Dannii recently. “It was nice to share that.”
The two have always worked together on each other’s projects, but it’s often been behind the scenes. Kylie co-wrote a song on Dannii’s debut album years ago called Love Traffic, Dannii returned the favour by appearing as an extra in Kylie’s What Do I Have To Do? clip. Then there was Dannii’s recent appearance in The Kylie Show, where the two ended up in a fully fledged fist fight.
Beautiful People is based on the childhood memoirs of window-dresser extraordinaire, style arbiter and writer Simon Doonan. The sitcom follows his childhood reminiscences of escaping the grey gloom of suburban Reading to live amongst the Beautiful People – before coming to the realisation that true beauty, as ever, is closer than we think.
The series is written by Jonathan Harvey whose previous credits include the memorable Gimme Gimme Gimme.
