Kiss Leaves Parents With Nasty Aftertaste
Excuse the pun, but Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl seems to be on the tip of everyone’s tongue at the moment. In the song she says, “I kissed a girl and I liked it, I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it”. However, according to the UK’s Daily Mail, it’s her parents that are far from impressed.
Katy’s parents are both evangelical Christian preachers, so it’s hardly surprising that they have major issues with their 23 year old daughter’s lesbo-tastic track. Her mother Mary Hudson, says, “I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting. Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can’t even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray.”
Oh please. She bows her head and prays? For what – a sense of humour? How uptight can one person be? By the sounds of it, you couldn’t pull a needle out of her butt with a tractor.
While Katy’s parents are struggling with the mere mention of girl on girl action, there are legions of impressionable young folk on youtube who are lapping it right up, uploading videos of their own versions of the track.
