Queen Latifah Keeps It In The Closet
Queen Latifah has told those who continue to speculate about her sexuality to “assume whatever [they] want”.
In a recent New York Times interview, Latifah was questioned over recent reports of her relationship and marriage plans with her long time personal trainer Jeanette and of her silence on the issue.
“I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life,” said Latifah. “You don’t get that part of me. Sorry. We’re not discussing it in our meetings, we’re not discussing it at Cover Girl,” Latifah fired back at the reporter.
“They don’t get it, he doesn’t get it, nobody gets that. I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway.”
Whatever we’re assuming, one thing is clear, Queen Latifah doesn’t read much into the speculation.
“A lot of people are crazy, cruel and negative,” she said. “They got a little too much time on their hands to discuss everybody else. I’d rather read something that I like or watch a program I enjoy or ride my damn motorcycle or throw back a couple of shots of tequila with my friends. Laughing and joking and actually living life.”
