He Don't Want Your "Faggot Money"

You probably haven’t heard of rapper Trick Trick, but he’s heard all about you. He’s a long time collaborator of Eminem, he’s got a new album coming out and he doesn’t want any gay people buying it.

“I’m a go on the record right now with this,” said Trick Trick in a recent interview with a hip hop mag. “Homosexuals are probably not gonna like this album. I don’t want your faggot money any goddamn way. I don’t like [gay people]. Carry that shit somewhere else.”

The rapper went on to criticise society’s growing tolerance of gay culture. “It’s just that every time that you turn on the TV, that sissy shit is on, and they act like it’s fucking okay. The world is changing for the worst when shit like that happens. And I address that issue. I address it hard as hell.”

He does so by attacking icons like Rosie O’Donnell and Ellen Degeneres on his new album, and also says that same-sex couples shouldn’t be allowed to adopt, singing “A man and man shouldn’t raise another man’s kids.”

One has to wonder why the rapper, who often appears in interviews draped by scores of scantily clad women, is so obsessed with homosexuality.

Eminem hasn’t passed comment on Trick Trick’s recent tirade, but in the past has made attempts to build bridges between gays and rap. He’s worked with Elton John, and has publicly stated, “I don’t agree with that lifestyle, but if that lifestyle is for you, then it’s your business”. He’s also in the past defended his homophobic lyrics, saying that he’s not speaking as himself, he’s speaking as a character, and representing homophobia in America.

Perez Hilton has called Trick Trick a “douchebag”, and Ben Summerskill from UK gay rights organisation Stonewall has said, It’s only three months since an 18-year old, Michael Causer, was murdered in a homophobic attack in Liverpool. “This is exactly the sort of sentiment that inspired his killer.”

I don’t know why but of all the homophobia out there this type is the type that gets to me the most. It probably has something to do with the fact that in some people’s eye’s Trick Trick and the like are cool dudes that make lots of money. So being extremely homophobic is then seen as cool. It is also astounding that he takes the moral high ground as well?
