Thomas Beatie, the American transgender man who “shocked the world” by falling pregnant is doing it all over again. The second baby is due to be born in June next year.

In a recent TV interview with Barbara Walters which is yet to air, he revealed that he did not go back on the male hormone testosterone after giving birth to his daughter Susan earlier this year, because he and his wife Nancy wanted another baby.

“I feel good. I had my checkups with my hormone level… everything is right on track, Beatie told Walters.

In the interview with Walters, Beatie also spoke about Susan’s birth. Beatie was in labour for 40 hours, he and wife Nancy cut the umbilical cord themselves, and the baby was not born by Caesarean section.

The funniest thing about all of this is that my brother's name is Thomas Beattie, albeit spelled slightly differently.

I haven't let up on him since this whole saga's begun.

"Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?"

"Who is the mother?"

"Why did you keep this from me?" etc...

The last year has been a barrel of laughs in my family.

Well she's actually a woman who has had her tits lobbed off and retained her womb. When she wants to fall pregnant she stops staking her hormones and her girlfriend uses a syringe bought from the local vets to inject sperm into her. She is not a man. If she's going to call herself a man then she should become a man and stop with the sitting on the fence and backing up. Make a decision one way or the other, because men don't fall pregnant.

I feel sorry for the children of this couple. What impact is all this going to have on their lives. This Thomas person says he/she doesn't conform to stereotypes, well that's all very fair for that individual but the children they're bringing into the world are individuals as well. One day they'll want to know what their family history is, who's their father and so forth. This couple are merely thinking about themselves and not the new people they are bringing into the world. Motivated only by their own selfish need.

You say you left ITM to get away from this sort of stuff yet you're always being antagonistic by making accusations because of your personal hang-ups. You don't know me so don't assume that you do. People who live in glass houses my dear...

My point is about the children. Frankly I couldn't care less what people do with their bodies but I think more care should go into the impact some people have on the lives they bring into this world. Like I said this person should make up his/her mind whether he wants to be a man or a woman. If my expression of concern towards two innocent lives that have no decision offends you then that's tough.

If you want an intelligent debate your use of course language simply negates that and I'm not about to deal with your personal issues. Let's just hope these kids do have a happy life which is not negatively impacted by selfish needs.

Gee you're reading a lot into what I wrote aren't you. When did I say these kids would be abused? Could you highlight the word "abuse" in my text for me?

Again read carefully dear, one of the things I said was "One day they'll want to know what their family history is, who's their father and so forth.." How will these kids be treated by other kids who don't understand? To me this situation is (let me repeat "this situation" as in not all transgendered parents, but this actual situation. Is that clear enough for you?) is no better than welfare girls having babies for the baby bonus.

Rather than rise from your sensitivities perhaps an intelligent debate could be had, but instead you'd prefer to make accusations and use foul language based on your own personal problems.

I for one would never ever say a wrong word against someone who makes a considered choice to bring a child into this world, however it happens. I think they are a lovely family who will raise the baby girl and this second one with joy and happiness in their family. That's a very lucky child.

sometimes other peoples opinions are offensive. In such cases I dont mind (being the floored human I am) letting it fly. Intelligence is one thing offensiveness is another. I beleive if you are to have an opinion atleast make it an informed one.

Honest these people are no more greedy that the bogans on the dole bringing kids into the world for a baby bonus. All humans are greedy to keep populating the planet with never ending mouths that consume and deform more and more of our social structure and the planet we live on. The bottom line is that the children will hopefully be loved and are bought up with a full understanding of just how this all happened. Oh no the kid may be picked on at school.. what shock horror!!! When we live in a society already where kids are picked on in school for the stupidest things like clothing or even having red hair. Everybody has a right to have children and I'm sure there are far more children growing up right now in conditions that I wouldn't wish on any human being.

I don't think your comments are transphobic, but I do believe you high and moral "what about the kids?" drama is pointless when thousand of kids each day suffer unimaginable things at the hands of genuine monsters.
