Li-Lo's Highs And Lows
Reports of Lindsay Lohan’s very public relationship with Samantha Ronson being on the rocks have been denied by the actress in her blog. It’s been common knowledge that the couple’s relationship has been quite turbulent for some time now as the world watches on, ready to pounce.
Rumours have been circulating after the pair were caught on film over the new years celebrations embroiled in fiery dispute. It was also reported that they also trashed a hotel room they were staying in before Lindsay boarded a flight in tears and inconsolable.
Lindsay has shot back at the accusations in her blog titled “Rumours” saying “We did not break up,” as suggested by several celebrity tabloids and online gossip columns. “It’s really annoying to have all of your friends emailing you saying, I saw, I read… etc. It’s just not true!”
Ever since the relationship began the media and the public have cast many doubts over the validity of her same-sex attraction. The eyes of the world are following every move the couple makes waiting for the cracks to show. Lindsay has been accused of being a faux lesbian by many in the queer community believing the entire relationship to be a huge publicity stunt, even though they’ve been together for almost a year now.
Lindsay seems quite upbeat over the drama as she posted her blog, revealing that she was currently listening to her own track Rumours ironically.
The rumours have surfaced amidst more controversy when the BBC came under fire during a program The Most Annoying People Of 2008. Screened on December 2008 the couple came in at number 43 amongst 100 others. The program has been accused of “gratuitously sexist and homophobic remarks” regarding the couple’s looks and homosexuality.
Radio present DJ Spoon made the remarks whilst interviewing reknowned porn star Ron Jeremy. Human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell has called for the DJ’s suspension until he apologises for the remarks.
“The remarks by BBC Radio 5 presenter DJ Spoony and straight US porn actor Ron Jeremy were gratuitously sexist and homophobic,” Mr. Tatchell said. He also was quoted saying, “The BBC should have never broadcast them. A public apology is due from the BBC.”
Spoony remarked on lesbians, “Let the munters and mingers get each other – that’s cool because no-one really wants them. But when they’re hot and fit and Hollywood superstars they should be saved for guys – not me, but other guys.” Jeremy went on to describe wanting a threesome with the couple and went on to describe how he wished to ejaculate over them.
Pregnant man Thomas Beatie also appeared on the ‘annoying list’, with comedian Sherrod Small making some pretty damning statements about him. “It’s a person who looks like a woman with a goatee who claims to be a man! Pregnant! That’s weird! I was sickened by it. When I was finished masturbating I threw it away.”
The BBC has refused to issue an apology in a statement that reads: “Most Annoying People 2008 is a light-hearted and comedic look at people and events that have annoyed, amused or appalled us over the last 12 months”.
