Kylie Announces First American Tour
Kylie may be many things, but she’s certainly not a quitter. So even though her last album X sold just 36,000 copies in America according to Nielsen SoundScan, she’s still determined to crack the US market, announcing that she’ll be touring North America and Canada this year for the very first time.
The tour kicks off in Oakland, San Francisco on September 30, only three days after Folsom Street Fair.
“I’ve wanted to tour in America and Canada for years,” said Kylie in a statement. “I know that fans have been waiting a long time for this and I’m thrilled that the opportunity has finally arrived.”
Fans, who have become used to seeing Kylie in massive arenas, will be thrilled to hear that her American shows will more much more intimate, around the 2,500 – 3,000 capacity, compared to her recent Sydney Acer Arena shows, which seated around 20,000.
Tickets go on sale on the weekend of May 15.
Kylie Minogue North American Tour dates are as follows:
30 Sept – Fox Theatre – Oakland, San Francisco Bay Area
3 Oct – The Pearl ‘Palms Resort & Casino’ – Las Vegas, NV
4 Oct – Hollywood Bowl – Los Angeles, CA
7 Oct – The Congress Theater – Chicago, IL
