Madonna And Oakenfold - Together Again
Details have emerged on a new collaboration between enduring DJ Paul Oakenfold, who recently headlined Mardi Gras Party, and pop music’s first lady Madonna. The working relationship between the duo goes back a way, with Oakey having supported Madge on more than a few of her stadium tours and also remixing a number of her singles, like Give It To Me and Hollywood.
Details of the collaboration emerged recently when Madonna’s publicist, Guy Oseary, revealed they had begun working together on two tracks for her forthcoming greatest hits album. “Had a good day with Madonna in the studio yesterday,” wrote Oseary on Madonna’s website. “She worked on an amazing dance track with Paul Oakenfold producing – no title yet but will keep you posted. She also started a second one, so we are hoping to have two tracks done this week.”
Oakenfold is quite excited with the results of their time in the studio together, describing it as “cutting edge sounds combined with classic Madonna.” He also revealed the material will first see the light of day in London this July, when he opens for her as part of the Sticky And Sweet world tour. Oakenfold has his own album in the pipeline as well, said to feature Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkley and members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It’s titled Pop Killer and is expected to be released in 2010.
