Katy Perry - No 'Boner Dyke'

It’s been almost a year since Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl exploded into the pop culture consciousness, and Perry is still defending the track against critics – the most recent being The Gossip’s Beth Ditto, who said the song was offensive to gay culture.

“I heard that [Beth] said something about me. I don’t want to get into a slanging war with anybody so I don’t want to say anything bad about her,” said Perry in a recent interview with UK’s London Paper. “But I’m not impressed.”

Ditto said that the track was a “boner dyke anthem for straight girls who like to turn guys on by making out or, like, faking gay,” adding that, ”[Perry is] just riding on the backs of our culture, without having to pay any of the dues and not being actually lesbian or anything at all.”

Perry said, “I’ve learned in the past year that one artist should never insult another artist’s music — it’s tacky.”

He is nothing but a talentless plastic piece of shit and should never have poisoned our airwaves with his voice. I cannot understand why he was hailed by us as such a great artist? Because he was gay? Pffft! Just because he is queer doesn't mean he is great. There are heaps of artists who are queer but are at the same time...shit! The gay press should never have jumped so quickly to put him up on a pedestal like they did.

I still remember that original "I kissed a Girl" song...does anyone else? came out in the 90's...cute kinda tune, acoustic guitar lyrics went something like 'I kissed a girl, for the first time...' anyone? And while I'm at it (ok, I'm old, sorry), what about that classic that went'i spent my last 10 dollars on birth control and beer, life was so much simpler when i was sober and queer...' My point is, this kind of thing happens again and again....endlessly. And I liked that original girl kissing song much better. Perry is a weak little princess.

Sam Sparro is great, from what I hear. Katy Perry is pathetic though. ok, so I quite like the "sound" of "Hot and Cold", but I Kissed a Girl is a caculated "celesbian boner dyke" anthem, and the disdain she has for gay boys in "U R So Gay" shows her to be a total hypocrite.

hey i like sam sparro rudeboy. at least he writes his own songs. have you heard the accoustic version of black and gold? I have heard his acoustic version of Black and Gold and I still think he sucks and my point on him still stands. If he wasnt Gay then they wouldn't have put him up on that pedestal. How many Queer punks have had to write their own music and perform locally and nationally but not get airtime on gay stations because they are not pop, house or acoustic?
