Gaga Marches For Gay Rights

She thanked god and the gays when she won MTV Award glory, now Lady Gaga wants everyone to join her this weekend when she marches for gay rights.

If you’re in the vicinity of Washington DC this weekend, you may catch a glimpse of the Lady strutting out in one of her outrageous outfits.

“On October 10th and 11th I will be in Washington DC to lend my support to the National Equality March,” said Lady Gaga in a statement. “This march is a call to action for all people from all over the country to gather to march to be visible as one and to speak out and demand full equal rights for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered citizens in all 50 states.

“If we see ourselves as free and equal people, then we need to act as free and equal people. Now is the time to act so get your ass to DC and lend your support. Lend your voice and demand to be heard. I hope to see you there,” the pop star told fans.

23-year-old Lady Gaga has made headlines on a number of occasions this year, over her interesting array of outfits during the MTV awards and due to comments about touring with Kanye West and making sure he knew her music, her show and her fans were gay.

Joking aside, Gaga has always espoused her thanks and support for the gay community. Coming out as bisexual to Rolling Stone magazine this year, and telling press she wasn’t one to ‘take advantage’ of the gay community, Gaga told MTV.com “the turning point for me was the gay community. I’ve got so many gay fans and they’re so loyal to me and they really lifted me up. They’ll always stand by me and I’ll always stand by them.”

In what we assume was an unprepared statement, Lady Gaga also gave a New York audience a little heads up about this weekend’s march.

“I really believe in this cause, and as a woman in pop music I think that this is really an important weekend, and it’s not a fucking joke,” she told her audience. “Get your asses to D.C. and wear something fabulous, and I’ll see you guys there.”

Yes, Ma’am.
