Casey Johnson [left], socialite and heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune, has died in Los Angeles. Police have not yet confirmed the cause of death but have stated that it appears to be from natural causes.

“I can confirm there’s been a death and the body has been identified as Casey Johnson,” Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Charles Halliburton told OK magazine.

J0hnson’s lesbian partner, TV personality Tila Tequila [right], turned to Twitter after hearing the news, saying: “Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away. Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family”.

This was followed shortly by a post reading: “This is a very heartbreaking time for me. I just want some pricacy (sic) as I deal with the loss of my Fiance Casey Johnson. I’m (sic) heart is shredded.”

However, there was confusion after Tequila posted again, saying: “I just got news that my fiance is not dead but currently in a coma!!! Omg please pray that she will make it! Hang in there my love please!!!” She later added, “I know u can feel me Casey! Dot let go! I’m almost home baby please hang on! We have a beautiful life planned out for us! I LOVE u! Hang on!”

Once Police confirmed her death Tequila wrote: “R.I.P my Angel. @caseyjonsonJnJ u will forever be in my heart! I love u so so much and we will Marry when I see U in Heaven my Wifey”.

People Magazine reported that the Los Angeles Police Department and firefighters had been called to a house, and that Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It appears to be a natural death,” said police Officer Sara Faden. “There’s no evidence of foul play. A toxicology report from the coroner’s office will proceed next.”

Johnson was openly gay and the daughter of New York Jets owner Robert “Woody” Johnson and great-great-grand-daughter of the co-founder of the Johnson & Johnson empire. She adopted a daughter from Kazakhstan in 2007, named Ava, and has been locked in a custody battle with her mother Sale Johnson over the child.

Johnson became engaged to Tila Tequila in early December. Tequila is a Singapore-born singer, model and reality TV personality, well known for posing nude in numerous magazines including Penthouse, and for her role on TV shows Pants-Off Dance-Off and A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila.

Johnson has a history of drug problems and was recently cut off from her trust fund by her now divorced parents when she refused to get help. It’s been reported that she had been living in squalid conditions. In November she was arrested for charges of grand theft, allegations made by her ex-girlfriend.
