All operas have an element of tragedy and Anna Nicole Smith’s story will not be any different when it takes the stage.
According to a New York Times report, plans are underway to create an opera based on the life of now deceased former-Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith.
Aptly titled Anna Nicole, the opera will be ready for public consumption February 2011.
Commissioned by London’s prestigious Royal Opera House, Anna Nicole was conceived by the minds behind controversial and popular production Jerry Springer: The Opera.
Anna Nicole Smith made headlines after marrying oil tycoon Howard Marshall, one year before his death. Smith passed away in 2007, due to an accidental drug overdose, after fighting a protracted legal battle over access to her deceased husbands estate, and the death of her son.
