The proud winner of Chicago’s coveted International Mr. Leather contest is a transgender man who is also physically challenged, marking a couple of firsts for the global contest.
In the extravagant showcase which concluded just hours ago, Tyler McCormick, Mister Rio Grande of New Mexico, took top prize in the fiercely fought competition of the hottest leatherman from all over the planet.
On stage in his wheelchair, leather-loving McCormick posed for photos wearing his IML 2010 sash and medal.
Australia’s Josh Burrows, who was representing Australia and New Zealand, made it into top twenty in the competition.
Same Same’s roving photographer Ross was there: “It was a hot weekend where thousands of leathermen took over Chicago,” he explains.
“The contestants of IML 2010 had fierce competition, with contestants competing in categories including a physique competition called Pecs ‘n Personality. The IML final runners up included Lance Holman of San Francisco and Jack Andrew Duke – Mister Texas.
“It’s unfortunate Australia is not bringing home gold, but his top twenty placing was a great result for a well-deserving contestant.”
