We may have to wait a year before Christopher Nolan’s final instalment in the Dark Knight trilogy hits the big screen, but in the meantime a teaser trailer for Batman: The Dark Knight Rises has hit the web, and boy does it tease like a hot twink in a nightclub.

There is still a great many rumours going around as to what Christopher Nolan has planned for his final Batman film, but what we can tell you is this.

Anne Hathaway will be playing Catwoman – this has me a little nervous then again, I can’t see Christopher Nolan ruining his final film with bad casting.

Inception star Tom Hardy will play Bane, now if you know the comic-canon of Batman, you’d know he’s the one villain that put Batman out of action. So fingers crossed the Bane we get this time round is far from Poison Ivy’s little lap dog that we saw in the 1997 craptastic Batman & Robin.

Christopher Nolan really does like keeping it in the family adding yet another two stars from his hit Inception Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard are also set to star in the movie. They’re said to play characters John Blake and Miranda Tate. In my personal opinion there is something fishy about this casting news, since they’re big stars so why cast them with such side-lined characters?

Now to the biggest speculation. Liam Neeson’s character Ra’s Al Ghul opens the teaser with a few lines from Batman Begins. There’s also a rumour circulating that Neeson has also filmed a quick cameo. Judging by these pictures from the Indian set, there is no denying this could quite possibly be the famous Ra’s Al Ghul Lazarus Pit. Could this possibly be how Bane comes about?

Back to Joespeh Gordon-Levitt playing John Blake, a detective who joins Commissioner Gordon’s squad hunting down the Batman? Seems like great talent is kind of going to waste, don’t you think?

There is no denying that over the coming months there will be a lot more speculation surrounding the plot, but one thing is for sure – the Dark Knight will definitely rise in all his glory.

What are your thoughts?
