Queen of pop, Madonna has blown away sports fans and music fans alike with one of the most impressive halftime shows at the biggest sporting event in America, the Superbowl.

The 53 year-old music icon gave a blistering hot performance of a medley of some of her biggest hits including Vogue, Music and Like a Prayer coupled with her brand new single from her soon to be released studio album, Gimme All Your Lovin’, while being joined by some of the hottest names in pop music including LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, MIA and Cee Lo Green and a massive cast of dancers and choir singers.

Set on an impressive light up screen stage, the massive spectacular did bear some resemblance to Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite world tour, as Madonna starts out in grand style as and Egyptian styled queen of pop (complete with Phillip Tracey winged crown), led by Romanesque soldiers. Then she breaks into Urban Parkour and ending on a mystical soul choir themed production.

The show is a fine return to form for the mega star and is being called one of the best Superbowl halftime shows of all time.

The queen was stunning in every sense of the word, don't care what anyone says, no one puts on a show like Madonna, & she did it all while having a pulled hamstring. Any of you hatters can eat your words, give the woman the respect she deserves. Touch down Madonna!

Sorry, but, I dont blame her for not coming hear, all people do is complain about it. There are a lot of places she has not been to in a long time. Anyway it's a boring time to get over it conversation. Lets just enjoy her entrainment :)

I'm speechless. No. I take that back. That was awe-inspiringly wonderful. Surpassed my expectations. All that Kabbalah water Madonna's been drinking has really paid off. Wow. The Roman theme was a treat. the choreography absolutely fabulous and the role playing was entertainingly brilliant. Madonna has still got it. Much respect for the woman.

Definitely a WOW! factor in play here. Amazing how the possibility of losing her Queen of pop crown to Lady Gaga is enough to inspire a truly fabulous display of creative energy. I thank Gaga for providing the competition and Madonna for rising to the occasion for another year. Yay!

Love it! The new song is pretty generic, but it's catchy, and I really don't think Madonna's been interested in pushing boundaries since American Life. Can you blame her after how that went down? Let Gaga and Co do the innovative heavy lifting now. The Queen has earned a break.

There's no denying she knows how to put together a terrific live show. She showcased her new single and surrounded it with exactly what people have come to love about her - several of her best hits and breathtaking presentation.

I also love the way she doesn't even slow down after nearly stacking it at the top of the stands, or when the LMFAO guy fails to catch her second foot. More power to her.

She's just a rich old lady who mimed and very stiffly danced.

If you were that massively rich, had lots of time on your hands, spent thousands on cosmetic surgery, and bought other peoples songs to sing for yourself, then you could do it if you could too.

Great to see so many positive comments, Theoldie, you summed it up perfect! As for those who have nothing but negative stuff to say, why can you not support people? be happy for people when doing such amazing work, why the need to compare to other artist? (if people do need to compare that performance by Madonna, it was something other artist can only dream of doing) why the need to make a point of the only one slip up in the whole show? Other artist have slip ups all the time. Try putting on a show like that, then see how negative one can be. Most negative comments are a reflection of your own personality or attitude. Got nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all :)

People are entitled to opinions, in fact I encourage them, my point is, if you have nothing NICE to say, then don't say anything at all, its never cool to put some body down, no matter who it is.

The guy at Vigilant Citizen has written about the show.
I take him with a grain of salt but it is interesting and there are some suspicious elements to her new clip.
