Iconic animated TV series The Simpsons finished off their season in fabulous style with a special and much anticipated cameo by none other than Lady Gaga, featuring 18 costume changes, original songs and even a girl-on-girl kiss with Marge!
The highly anticipated season finale aired this past Sunday featuring the reigning queen of pop. The show proved to be a ratings booster and a major coup for the longest-running animated series which has now completed its 23rd season.
It was also the voice-over animation debut for the Gaga, who says she was in love with the show and the script from the moment she read it, adding “I would say this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.”

Here fans and audiences across the US were excited too, and the episode attracted plenty of purchases on iTunes when it became available there.

The episode clearly spoke to Gaga, who is a vocal opponent of bullying and supporter of equality and gay rights. In it she finds herself in the town of Springfield just when Lisa is having a crisis of self doubt. She reminds Lisa of the importance of believing in yourself, and embracing uniqueness.
The biggest female artist in pop right now, Gaga is currently in the midst of her latest tour, the Born This Way Ball, which has already met with controversy. There have been protests from religious groups in South Korea, Indonesia about the perceived ‘immorality’ of her shows, which could still mean the cancellation of her remaining dates there.
