Canadian police are stepping up their search for a self-described “porn star” who is the prime suspect in a grisly murder.
29-year-old Luka Rocco Magnotta (pictured) has for several years been working as a gay porn actor, is suspected to have killed and dismembered a man, and sent various body parts to others in the mail.
A human foot was sent to the headquarters of Canada’s ruling Conservative Party, while a torso was found in an alley behind Magnotta’s apartment in Montreal, and a hand was found in the mail at an Ottawa post office.
Aged around 30, the deceased man was believed to have been in a relationship with Magnotta.
The former model and escort is believed to have fled to Paris, so Interpol has been contacted to help the search of him, as has face smirks from front pages across Canada.
As the search for him intensifies, police and media are picking over the online trails Magnotta created in recent years. He has now been linked to recent videos showing cannibalism and necrophilic acts, and a video from 2010 in which kittens are suffocated. He has also been linked to female convicted serial killer and rapist Karla Homolka.
