We love using those little Emoji pictures in our texts – so we’re pleased to see some cute new additions are on their way.

The next update to the Apple iPhone/iPad operating system will include loads of new Emoji icons – including two tiny same-sex couples, shown above, and discovered by Aussie tech blog Gizmodo today.

The gay and lesbian couples will appear with the iOS6 update, coming from Apple this Autumn. See more about the range of new features planned here.

Oh, so you’ve got an iPhone but are still not sure what we’re on about? Find your Emojis like this – go into Settings>General>Keyboard and click ‘International Keyboards’ to make Emoji available to type. Then whenever you’re using your keyboard, press the ‘globe’ icon and you’ll see your new little family of icons.
