A new addition to the features of ubiquitous gay hook-up mobile app Grindr will see its users be able to categorise themselves into Bears, Jocks, Twinks or Muscle men.

Shown below, the revamped interface and slide-screen menu will also appear in coming weeks, as Grindr celebrates reaching four million love-seeking users.

New screens and filters aim to help the user find what they’re looking for much faster. And a ‘chat’ screen will show recent conversations in a list form. The app’s team say there’s many more new features planned too.

“With 4 million men, Grindr is the best place to meet guys, and we’re introducing the new Grindr, which makes your search a lot easier and faster,” says Grindr founder Joel Simkhai.

Grindr has also released this impressive map showing people logged in at 7:45pm Los Angeles time – that’s lunchtime the next day in Sydney… bleep!

The app’s team says: “The map displays the app’s sheer power and sweeping reach, showing users in even the remotest corners of the world logged into Grindr, and it provides a visual glimpse into the activity of a portion of Grindr’s 1.1 million daily users at just one particular moment in time.”
