Arizona’s wonderdads Steven and Roger Ham have opened their home to more than 40 foster kids through the years – but now they are the legal adopted parents of twelve children.
One gets called ‘Dad’ and one gets called ‘Papa’.
Ranging in age from 3 up to 17, the big brood certainly keeps these two guys on their toes, and all the kids must follow strict rules about chores, making sure they all do their fair share around the home.
Because two men aren’t legally able to co-adopt children in the state of Arizona, a kind lawyer from Washington offered to get it all done in arrange all the adoptions from that state – so now all the kids are formally their own.
Steven and Roger are having a very good year – they are both on the list of Esquire magazine’s ten best dads of 2012.
But they’re so modest. “We’re just a normal family,” says Roger.
