Some exciting news regarding Emmy nominated Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson – he has proposed to his long-time partner Justin Mikita.
Ferguson gave the announcement through a video for their newly created foundation Tie The Knot, by teaming up with Tie Bar to create a collection of bow ties that benefits gay rights organisations.
“It’s true. I popped the big Q!” the 36 year old announced today in their video, with Mikita saying “and I said yes!”
The Modern Family star kicks the video off by singing a song about all the US states that allow same-sex marriage, then announcing his proposal and explaining that the profits from their bow tie line will go to organisations that work towards marriage equality.
“We want our interpersonal relationship to be acknowledged in a union formalised via a wedding ceremony,” Ferguson says. “But we’re just like millions of Americans who are denied the basic civil rights to marry the person that we love.”
Check out the couple’s adorable video below.
Needless to say we at Same Same are wishing the cute-as-puppies-in-bow ties couple a big CONGRATULATIONS!
So who’s buying a bow tie?
