Is James Bond bisexual? That’s the question many fans are pondering as news spreads about a sexually charged scene in Skyfall that pushes the idea that 007 might bed more then just the occasional lady for his queen and country.
In Skyfall, Javier Bardem takes centre stage as the flamboyant Silva, a former MI6 operative and computer genius who has stolen the list of every NATO agent embedded in enemy camps across the globe and is slowly blowing their covers, and who also seems to have a thing for Daniel Craig’s Bond.

In a scene where we see Bond tied up, the villianous Silva runs his fingers across Bond’s chest and asks “What’s your regulation training for this?” Bond replies: “What makes you think it’s my first time?”
Could Silva be the first male Bond conquest? Both Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem spoke with Movieline about the scene.
“Someone suggested that Silva may be gay and I’m like, I think he’ll f*** anything,” laughs Daniel Craig. “Javier plays it is so great. He plays it for real, and he plays it to the limit. He never forgets that he’s playing a Bond villain. I love that scene. It makes me laugh. I hope it makes you laugh.”
However Bardem provides a little more insight into his villain’s role in the film explaining that his “main goal” as Silva was creating “uncomfortable situations” for anyone who crossed his path. “Within that, you can read anything that you want or wish.”
“It was part of the game, but it’s not entirely the game. It was more about putting the other person in a very uncomfortable situation where even James Bond doesn’t know how to get out of it.”
While we can safely say we won’t be seeing any hot man on man action in this new James Bond flick, the idea that this kind of encounter might not be Bond’s first time does get the imagination running with the hope that one day we will hear Bond utter these words: “Is that a gun in your pocket or are you happy to see me?”
