The 7/7/7 Warms Up

On the 7th day of the 7th month of the 7th year, the Earth will unite…

It may sound like the intro to an Armageddon movie, but it’s actually a call to arms for the series of Live Earth concerts that are taking place around the world tomorrow, kicking off in Sydney.

Headlined by bands like Wolfmother, Crowded House, Eskimo Joe and Sneaky Sound System, the Australian arm of the concert will be held tomorrow at Aussie Stadium from 10am to 8:50pm to promote awareness of global warming and what we can do to help.

The Sydney leg is the first in a series of 24-hour television on the issue to raise awareness around the globe on the 7/7/7 and will give a healthy amount of promotion to all the Aussie groups involved. It’s rumoured that Kylie Minogue will be in the audience tomorrow supporting Sneaky Sound System, who have just written a song for her new album.

More shows will then follow Shanghai, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Hamburg, London and New York. The Live Earth concert will be screened on Foxtel, so head down tomorrow or sit back and watch it from your couch.
