The Cocktail World Cup Is Here

Take the best mixologists from around the world, shake things up by transporting them to New Zealand, stir them as hard as you can by making them create cocktails while hanging from helicopters, jetting through canyons and bungy jumping and what do you get? The 42 Below Cocktail World Cup!

But don’t make any mistake, despite it being held in one of the most extremely fun locations in the world, this is still a serious competition. The 42 Below Cocktail World Cup takes place in a few weeks time in Queenstown, New Zealand (42 degrees below the equator, and the same place where Gay Ski Week NZ is held) where six of Australia’s best behind the bars will compete against teams from all over the world to be named the winners of the Cocktail World Cup.

The six Australian winners heading to the finals come from some of the best bars in the country, including Kass Hill and John Toubia from Ravesi’s and The Lincoln in Sydney, Sean Baxter from Manchuria in Melbourne, Laurence Kain from Hippo Bar in Canberra and Louise Essex and Ryan Martin representing Queensland from the Press Club and Lauxes respectively.

The 42 Below Cocktail World Cup Grand Finale will be held from September 9 to 16 in Queenstown where they’ll crown the worldwide winner after putting them through their paces, shaking violently and straining through a filter until only the best is left.

Come on Aussie, come on! Come on!
