Lets Hear It For The Ladies!
The InTheMix list of the top 50 DJs in Australia has been announced, and when it comes to gay representation on the list it’s all about Adelaide and Brisbane, and it’s all about the ladies.
Adelaide’s DJ JoSH [pictured] took out the number 20 spot. She’s no stranger to this list – she’s been on it every year since it began in 2003. She was also voted number one DJ in South Australia. Queensland’s Neroli, of Fluffy fame, came in at Number 34.
DJ JoSH received her award in front of 400 industry players at a packed Tank Nightclub in Sydney where Australia’s dance music industry gathered to celebrate the countries finest DJs, club nights, events and producers.
Other familiar faces on the Top 50 list included the Bang Gang DJs at number 8 and TV Rock at number 23. Ajax has taken out the top spot for the second consecutive year.
The inthemix50 for 2007 saw a smashing 16,000 people cast 87,000 votes across five categories. Proving dance music is alive and on the rise.
