Brokeback Mountain 2?

Aussie hunk Heath Ledger (pictured right) is rumoured to be in talks with filmmakers discussing a sequel for Brokeback Mountain, the hugely successful movie in which he starred opposite Jake Gyllenhaal (pictured left) as two gay cowboys in mid west America.

Very early rumours are already conflicting – some rumours suggest that the movie would center on Ledger’s character Ennis Del Mar, and how he copes after his lover Jack Twist dies. Another rumour suggests that Brokeback Mountain 2 would instead delve deeper into the difficulties faced by gay man in the ‘60s.

Both fine ideas but the only trouble is that Del Mar and Twist’s love affair lasts from 1963 to 1983, so with the timelines of the two ideas, it would clearly need to be one or the other.

Fellow Australian ‘actor’ (read: Calvin Klein hunk from rural Victoria who played Samantha’s toyboy on Sex and the City) is also said to be in talks for a future film project. We have posted some eye candy of him below. Because we can.

Did anyone else not really think much of the movie? To say it was a good gay love story I find quite repulsive. Unfortunately the real tragedy was jakes charactor not heaths being killed off. But being written by a woman what would she really know. Can we never have feel good gay movies?

Ledger should do a brand new gay love thingy with Charlie Cox...that would be HOT!! Come to think of, any gay movie involving Charlie Cox would be hot!! Brokeback Mountain 2...gee...what can happen next...especially to the blood stained shirt and jacket...hmmm?!?

i found the most tragic thing was the fact that the wife had been lied to... and that she found out... and monitored the fishing gear. oh the tragedy. no really. absolutely horrible...

I worry that a sequel would take away some of the magic from the original.
