The dust is still settling from the Same Same 25. After a week of your votes we can announce that Justice Michael Kirby is the People’s Choice as the most influential member of the 2007 list.
“If it helps promote equality in Australia (and not just for gays) it makes me happy,” said Kirby of being part of the 25. Kirby says that as far as his influence is concerned, he’s all about fighting for “equality, non-discrimination and human dignity.”
Yesterday Adam Sutton sat down and chatted with David and Kim on Channel Ten’s 9am. He candidly spoke about his experience of growing up in the bush, ending up in prison, contemplating suicide, coming out to those around him and of his involvement with the film Brokeback Mountain.
Kim wasn’t afraid to ask the big questions – “Tell me about your first sexual experience,” and “Did [the sex] feel right at the time?” being two stand outs. As always Adam’s humility and honesty prevailed.
