Move Over Dannii And Kylie... It's Mr. G!
Move over Dannii and Kylie, because Australia has a brand new dance sensation that’s set to take over the country. The character creation of Australian comedian Chris Lilley, Greg Gregson, better known as Mr. G from Summer Heights High, is set to release his first Single Naughty Girl.
The stand out track was featured in Mr G – The Musical, that was all part of the story line of Summer Heights High, the second controversial satirical ABC series by Lilley. The song, which intends to be a warning to youths about the abuse of sex and drugs, speaks of the tragic tale of Jessica – a girl who just couldn’t say no to the drug ecstasy.
The infectious track achieved cult status from the moment it aired on the show. With the release of the CD single, which will include remixes by Paul Mac, Stylaz Fuego and John Paul Talbot, you can be sure that infectious track is destined to became a dance floor anthem. And Mr G agrees and he’s taking the release seriously as a way to achieve higher recognition for his ‘obvious’ talent.
“I’m planning to use the song as the school bell for a week once it’s released. The Principal doesn’t know this yet but I’ve booked in with the PA ladies and I’m going to blast it all over the school. This should help sales,” Mr G told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph recently.
“I’ve got it on repeat at home. The people in the townhouse next door to mine have been banging on the wall telling me to turn it off but I don’t care. I’ve played it so many times it’s even starting to annoy me.”
Naughty Girl gets released digitally on March 1st, just in time for Mardi Gras, with the official CD release on March 8th.
Chris Lilley aka Mr G, is currently working on a glitzy video clip fully charged with his own unique brand of choreography, for his musical offering which is also due for release soon.
