If you were one of the unlucky few who missed out on getting a Mardi Gras ticket, we’ve got the news you’ve been waiting for.

There have been a lot of rumours floating around over the past few days, but we’ve now got the official word. Same Same can reveal that more tickets to Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Party will go onsale this Friday at noon. More details here.

The exact number is not going to be huge, most likely in the hundreds, says New Mardi Gras Chairman Marcus Bourget. The extra allocation to be sold are made up from tickets that have been returned on consignment. “This is not a new release of tickets,” says Bourget. “The capacity of the party has not increased since the release of the extra 1,500 tickets earlier in the week. It is not possible for us to increase the footprint.”
