Pink Flight Touches Down!
Air New Zealand’s pink flight from San Francisco has landed in Sydney for Mardi Gras with Kathy Griffin, a gaggle of drag queens and plenty of gay and lesbian passengers onboard.
Before take off the plane itself was wearing a pink feather boa and fake eyelashes. Surely that goes against some sort of aviation safety legislation.
Kathy Griffin collected everyone’s tickets as they boarded. One passenger who blogged about the experience said, “I give [Kathy] a lot of credit – she couldn’t have been nicer or more patient with everyone, taking pictures with anyone who wanted them and everyone wanted them! She either has patience of steel or really good medications.”
The flight featured party music onboard, competitions, stand up from Kathy and gay-themed film screenings. The decor, the food, the beverages – literally everything onboard – had some sort of pink twist.
Highlights included Kathy running around in her underwear and a ‘hot man competition’ which took place while breakfast was being served.
Here’s a couple of (poor quality) American news stories about the flight. Watch out for the homophobia from the newscaster at the end of the second video. Gotta love that.
There are still some seats available for Kathy Griffin’s show Friday night at the Enmore Theatre. Click here to buy yours!
