The Single Hottest Straight Guy in Australia
Move over Oscars, there’s a more important award in town – the announcement of the Cleo Bachelor of the Year for the hottest single straight guy in Australia.
Well, it’s officially an award for “the most eligible bachelor” but just like the Miss Universe title, it’s all just a cover for a glorified beauty contest. But hey, there’s nothing wrong with that, eh?
Take one part beefcake, add a dash of schoolboy charm and a sexy-as smile and what do you get? The 2008 Bachelor of the Year, introducing Jason Dundas.
The 25 year-old former MTV-VJ, now a regular presenter on the Getaway travel show, and took out the award last night at a black-tie event in Sydney.
While most would relish the title of the most eligible single man in the country, Dundas hesitated a bit. “I think it’s going to work against me with the girls,” he told AAP, “because I want to find an honest, true girl and I don’t think that’s going to happen [now that I’ve won].”
The Editor of Cleo Magazine who put on the event said that Dundas was a well-deserved winner. “He definitely ticks a lot of boxes in what women are looking for: he has the prerequisite six-pack, a great smile, friendly nature and comes across as a genuine guy.”
Dundas was up against some tough competition, including with swimmer and ironman Ky Hurst, singer Dean Guyer, landscape gardener and model Angus Kennet and fellow TV reporter James Tobin.
