Todd McKenney In The Dog House

There’s a dog on the loose and celebrity breakfast radio announcer and Dancing With The Stars judge Todd McKenney is offering a thousand dollar reward for anyone who can find it. McKenney was dog-sitting Benji while his neighbour travelled to Japan with her husband for her 70th birthday and now, it’s gone.

According to McKenney, his dog walker took Benji out with his own two dogs to the park. Two kids came up to the dogs, and Benji slipped off his collar and ran away. A likely story.

The radio host spent yesterday knocking on his neighbour’s doors and had notified the RSPCA, local council rangers and veterinary hospitals.

“I am a responsible dog owner and I wouldn’t have agreed to take care of her dog if I wasn’t one,” said McKenney. “My neighbour returns tomorrow, and the last thing she needs is stress like this.”

The 12-year old silky terrier has a growth on the back of his neck, one distinguishing feature of the dog. Using his radio program as his call-for-action, he spoke with LA-based psychic Lisa Williams to find out Benji’s whereabouts in which she replied that he could be “roaming around trees.”

“He won’t know where he is. He has no street sense or street manners at all,” McKenney said. “He is timid and does like kids, and is a loving dog.”

An update – Silky terrier Benji was found Friday last week – he’d been run over by a four wheel drive in the swanky Sydney suburb of Vaucluse. Apart from a broken leg, he’s doing just fine.
