Madonna Not Coming Down Under

Despite claiming herself that she would be touring Australia this time around, Madonna has confirmed that her Sticky And Sweet tour itinerary will not include an appearance Down Under.

After the Spice Girls’ disappointing back peddling earlier this year, it’s all starting to feel a little familiar.

A source recently advised News.com.au that there were plans to tour Australia but they’ve since “been taken off the table.” All major Aussie promoters had been pitching to get Madge out here. It would have been her first Australian concerts since 1993. Apparently she was offered “millions of dollars” to play two stadium gigs in Sydney and Melbourne.

The promise of a Madonna tour perhaps contributed to the strong sales of her new album Hard Candy. It debuted here at Number 1 and has already gone gold.

So if you’re keen to see Madonna this time around, it looks like you’re gonna have to hop on a jet.
