Win Your Way Into Mamma Mia! The Movie

Now how is this for a competition. Thanks to the generous folk at Universal Pictures, Same Same has 20 double passes to give away for a special preview screening of Mamma Mia! The Movie.

Not only will the lucky winners be among the first people to see the film, they’ll also be in the company of greatness. Stars from the film – Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Dominic Cooper – will also be there. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Academy Award winner Meryl Streep leads the cast of the screen version of the worldwide stage musical phenomenon featuring the songs of ABBA. Streep plays Donna, the mother of Sophie, who’s on a quest to discover the identity of her father on the eve of her wedding. Three men from Donna’s past return to the paradise they last visited 20 years ago, resulting in a trip down the aisle no one will ever forget.

The film also stars Pierce Brosnan, Julie Walter, Christine Baranski and Amanda Seyfried. The film premieres in Melbourne July 9, and is in cinemas around the rest of Australia the following day.

The premiere takes place Wed July 9 at Hoyts Melbourne Central. The red carpet starts at 6.15pm. There will be a Q&A with Meryl Streep and Colin Firth, hosted by the fabulous Adam Richards, in Melbourne Central for everyone to watch.

To enter the competition, click here and tell us in 25 words or less what your favourite ABBA moment is and why.

I've already emailed you privately, but thought it was worth responding to this too, given that it's public. The passes were sent out from our offices last Friday - ordinarily this would have been plenty of time for mail to travel from Sydney to Melbourne. It's unfortunate that Australia Post took longer than usual to deliver the mail. We've lodged an official complaint with Australia Post over this. We did get everyone on a door list as a back up and we did get in touch with everyone via email to let them know this. I understand that it's frustrating that you didn't receive your pass, but you could have contacted us to let us know that you hadn't received it. You also could have checked your email on the day. Again, our apologies that you missed out. Thanks for the apologies, Christian. They are truly appreciated! :) You might think that by replying to your post that I am not over this, but I am! The only reason I am replying to you post is just in case you are of the mistaken belief that every Same Samer sits on their butt in front of a computer waiting for emails all day. I don't. I'm a blue collar worker and most workdays I'm braving the elements making efforts to keep Dun and Bradstreet and the like at bay. And no... I don't have an iphone and the only blackberry I own is preserved in a jar with sugar and pectin. I'm sure you'd agree that sending people emails on the afternoon of an event when the event starts the same afternoon is not a timely and sure-fire method of communication. Yes, if I had been home on the Tuesday night I might have sent Same Same an email... but I remind you, the instructions in the author-less Same Same email sent to winners was... and I quote... 'Don't do anything!' I have moved on... but I'm happy to keep chatting openly (or privately) like this about almost anything you might suggest! ;) I hope everyone's weekend is bringing smiles to faces!:) Cheers! - albatross
